Jerry Dawson is the “other” J and the reason for the brokerage being named J Dawson Realty. Jerry obtained his real estate license about 10 years ago and worked part-time helping Joni as often as possible. After many years and a lot of long hours, Jerry recently retired from Yellow Roadway Corporation in Fort Worth and Joni quickly activated his real estate license so that he could join in on the fun of owning and operating the brokerage. When Jerry is not selling real estate, he loves tinkering in his shop, & working on his new “old” truck.

After spending 19 years in law enforcement, I decided to make a change. I have had the opportunity to work with city governments, county officials, multiple federal agencies, corporate administrations, be a trainer, a supervisor, and Chief of Police for a small town. I had a lot of good training and met a lot of people along the way. I always enjoyed working with people, but I really wanted to engage in a totally different way. Even though I was in a position to help people, not every situation allowed me to interact the way I wanted to.

My wife and I love to be on the lake, go to different events around town, and hop on the motorcycle every chance we get. My career in law enforcement was not allowing me to spend time with my family and enjoy the things we love to do, so I made that change. Real Estate is something I have been passionate about for years. I knew I would enjoy it, and it would give me the opportunity to interact and help others along the way. My wife has an extensive knowledge of property management, so when I decided to get into real estate, she and I became Realtors® together. It has been a blast to be doing the same thing, and sort of “feeding” off each other. Now I, along with her, want to make others feel like they are part of the family. I will work diligently and efficiently through every step of the buying or selling transaction. I believe communication is the key to a positive and happy experience.

Life is what we make it. We can enjoy each other, have fun, and not stress over what our creator already has planned for us. I am always looking forward to making new friends and memories.

My husband and I are native Texans. We love this great state of ours, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and hospitality that Granbury and Texas has to offer.

We enjoy motorcycle rides in the hill country, and spending time with friends and family on the lake or at our home. My door is always open, and I enjoy hosting friends and family to share a meal and fun times.

I have worked in the real estate industry for 28 years, specializing in the multifamily industry. I started out working as an onsite property manager, then moved my way up to a trainer. Twenty one years ago, I became a regional manager overseeing up to 3500 units.

My husband and I decided to get our real estate license, because we love helping people, and it is rewarding to help someone find a place to call HOME!

I have personal experience with small farm/ranches, multifamily and single family homes. My husband and I are dedicated to helping people fulfill their hopes and dreams.

After living in Central Texas for the last three decades, my husband and I moved to Granbury to be closer to our daughter’s family. Our four grandsons participate in sports and give us great joy. We were expecting to find a fun lake vibe with friendly Texans galore, and I’m happy to say we haven’t been disappointed.
